Melissa Haft
A self-proclaimed tree-hugger, Melissa derived her earth-loving ways from a hippie father, a Los Angeles native like herself, and an Israeli mother who grew up harvesting potatoes on a small farm. Melissa earned her B.A. in Communication Studies at UCLA, where she also headed the Sustainable Foods campaign for the California Student Sustainability Coalition.
Following a six-month tour in Florence, Italy studying Renaissance Art History, Melissa decided to pursue a degree in Interior Design, a field for which she has always been extremely passionate. She completed her design certification at UCLA Extension’s Architecture/Interior Design program, where she also received two notable scholarship awards for her work and was elected to redesign the offices of the Dean.
Four years in the Hospitality Design field at the esteemed Kirk Nix Associates has only made her more dedicated to transforming an ecologically impactful industry. She has since become LEED Accredited, and is constantly broadening her expertise in sustainable building practices.
Melissa’s uniquely holistic approach to design enables her to create memorable interior spaces utilizing fewer resources. Having worked on major hotel developments internationally, she understands the complexities of coordinating construction projects of all sizes.
